  • Project: Anderson Road Sunshine

  • Location: Sunshine

  • Client: CEEJ Developments

Project Description

Located in the heart of Sunshine and within a designated Metropolitan Activity Centre the site lies 500 metres from Sunshine railway station, a major transport interchange offering connections to multiple metropolitan and regional railway lines.

MGS led a team of consultants to prepare a Development Plan that included a comprehensive examination of existing conditions, site and public realm interfaces, access, traffic and road layout, transport, open space and landscaping, streetscapes, site infrastructure and acoustic performance.

The resulting design vision provides for a total of 150 townhouses in four clusters, all serviced by a public ‘loop’ road with each cluster sensitive to its own set of unique interfaces. All resident parking is located to the rear of the housing, avoiding crossings and releasing the loop road system to enhance public realm with generous allowances for canopy trees and on-street visitor parking.

The intention is to create an open and engaged residential quarter that is strongly integrated with the Sunshine Activity Centre and responds sensitively to its location immediately adjacent to the heritage significant H. V. McKay Memorial Gardens.
