Project Description

Built on the site of the existing Glenroy Community Hall and Senior Citizens’ Centre this new hub houses the Glenroy Neighbourhood Learning Centre and Occasional Child Care, the Maternal and Child Health Centre and the Glenroy Office of the Moreland Community Health Service. The building received funding from the Victorian State Government and Moreland City Council.

New dramatic architectural interventions announce the entry points of the two existing buildings on site and visually link them to the new hub. The ensemble of new and upgraded buildings frame a new civic open space with a strong graphic composition of hard and soft landscaping. The architecture and landscape treatment incorporate the work of artist Matthew Johnson.
