  • Project: Bristol Hotel Apartments

  • Location: Williamstown

  • Client: Mitchell and Verlaan

Project Description

The Bristol Apartments redevelopment leverages the iconic form of the original heritage listed Bristol Hotel to underpin the design of this new four storey apartment building. Visual separation between the new and old building fabric protects the reading of the existing building while allowing the new architecture to express itself along its Ferguson Street and Station Road frontages with substantial and simply articulated building elements and high quality materials.

A sensitive interface with adjoining single level housing is handled with a generous landscape setback and associated courtyard spaces which lend amenity to both apartment residents and neighbours alike.

Forty apartments are provided in a mix of one and two bedroom configurations ranging in size from 53 to 165 square metres. Car parking is below grade in a basement where 43 cars and 40 bicycles are housed.
